Forthcoming Bookings

2018
April 2018
A few months ago I was interviewed by Mike Norris (former chairman of the English Folk Dance and Song Society) for inclusion of an item about Lucy Broadwood, featuring some of the songs collected by her and for her, in his weekly programme "Classic Folk" on The Wireless ,a local radio station run by Age UK. The programme is streamed on the internet, and also is broadcast as a podcast on the website of the EFDSS in the week of broadcast.

The programme was aired on 23 April 2018, and the first hour was comprised of various songs related to Lucy, including one from Ralph Jordan and myself, and about 10 minutes of chat about Lucy and her singers.
The programme can still be accessed as a podcast on Mixcloud.

"The Lost Lady Found" - Life and Works of Lucy Broadwood
Abbots Langley History Society
Full details to be confirmed
A general talk about Lucy's life and work, with some specific reference to songs that she collected in Hertfordshire.

Other forthcoming projects
There is a possibility that I may be able  to give one of my talks on Lucy Broadwood in the church at Rusper at  some point later this year. This would be a significant venue for me, as Rusper Church was Lucy's local church, where she was also choir mistress and organist for a number of years in her teenage years and early twenties, as well as being the church where she and a number of her family are buried.
It is also likely that I may be giving a talk on Lucy in Surrey History Centre in 2019, although this and details of the other talks are yet to be confirmed.

I hope to finally get round to recording a number of tracks with a view to releasing some of the material used in my talks and the show during the forthcoming year.
